If any of your tooth enamel needs to be removed during the preparation process, a temporary veneer will be placed to protect your smile until the final product is returned from the lab. 

4. Porcelain Veneer Creation

Your new veneers will be precision-designed in a specialized dental laboratory. To ensure your comfort, local anesthetic may be applied to the treatment area and, when necessary, remove any temporary veneers. Then, our cosmetic dentist carefully cements the porcelain veneers in place over your teeth using a special light to speed up the hardening process. If you are happy with the look and feel, we will polish your smile and make any minor adjustments to ensure your new bite fits together naturally. 6. Caring for Your New Smile

If you want your porcelain veneers to keep you smiling for the next twenty years, it’s essential to take care of them well. Brushing and flossing twice a day is still a top priority to keep your teeth under the veneers safe from decay. Continue to get regular checkups and cleanings as before, or surface deposits can build up on your veneers. Remember that while veneers are strong, they are not indestructible. Chewing on pens or fingernails or using your teeth as tools to open bottles all put your new veneers at risk.
